IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference released its 2024 All-Conference teams on Thursday, with junior Mia Soerensen representing UTSA volleyball on the second team.
This marks back-to-back years that Soerensen cracked the second team after posting a squad-high 299 kills at a .242 clip and boasted a team-high 109 blocks. A Preseason All-Conference selection, she was twice named an honorable mention in The American’s weekly awards.
She was recognized on Sept. 9, shortly after being chosen for the All-Tournament team at the UTSA Invitational, where she recorded double-digit kills across all four matches. Soerensen was also incredibly efficient, maintaining a .311 hitting percentage, and had 14 blocks and five aces for 70.5 total points.
On Nov. 18, she was an honorable mention for her performance in the final week of the season. Soerensen dominated for the Roadrunners in a pair of wins, first posting 11 terminations against Tulsa before charting 21 against Wichita State. On the week, she boasted 38.0 kills at a .273 clip with 11 blocks for 38.0 total points.
