TULSA, Okla. — Kaelen Dulany turned in an even-par scorecard to highlight final-day action for the UTSA men’s golf team at The Clerico on Tuesday at Oaks Country Club (par 70/6,950 yards).
Dulany carded a 70 on the strength of a pair of birdies during his final 18 holes, moving into a tie for 17th place at 9-over-par 219 to notch the top finish so far of his debut campaign with the Roadrunners. The sophomore transfer from Keller, Texas, wrote down a three on the 450-yard 13th and a two on the 178-yard 14th holes while posting UTSA’s low round of the 54-hole tournament and his fourth par-or-better score of the fall. He opened the week with a 76 and then registered a 73 in his second round, which spanned two days after being suspended due to darkness on Monday evening.
Logan Zurn was two shots behind his teammate in a tie for 27th at 11-over 221. The junior out of Grapevine, Texas, posted a 74 in the first round before closing out a 73 for his second 18 this morning. He then turned in his second 74 of the week behind a trio of birdies on par fours, including the 461-yard 18th, en route to his second straight 27th-place showing.
Brayden Bare tied for 50th with a 225 and led the Roadrunners with seven birdies on the week, including five during his final round 77. After opening with 74s in the first two rounds, the redshirt sophomore from Waco circled three of his numbers on a four-hole stretch on the front nine and also had back-to-back birdies on Nos. 14-15 in the final round.
Logan Vargas and Walker Franklin rounded out the UTSA lineup in ties for 56th (77-74-76—227) and 66th (78-74-78—230), respectively.
In the team standings, UTSA finished 12th with an 892, 10 strokes ahead of Kansas City and only four behind Florida Gulf Coast.
No. 30 Northwestern claimed the team title with an 852 behind individual medalist Cameron Adam’s 3-under 207 (67-70-70). The Wildcat were followed by host Oral Roberts (860), 18th-ranked Duke (865), UTEP (867) and No. 36 Little Rock (875) in the top five.
The Roadrunners are scheduled to tee off their spring season on Feb. 2-4 at the Vaqueros Intercollegiate in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
