SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women’s golf team is back in action this week at the Dale McNamara Invitational, which will be held Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 14-15, at Cedar Ridge Country Club (par 71/6,366 yards) in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The Roadrunners will bring a lineup of Daniela Abonce, Maria Bastarrica, Sydney Bisgrove, Morgan Ellison and Olivia Williams to the 54-hole event.
UTSA will line up against Abilene Christian, Arkansas, Boise State, BYU, Cal Poly, Kennesaw State, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Rutgers, Sam Houston, South Florida, Tulane and host Tulsa.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. start each day.
The Roadrunners are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Diane Thomason Invitational two weeks in Iowa. Olivia Williams logged her top finish as a Roadrunner after recording a 225 (70-74-81) to tie for fifth, her second career top-10 showing. Abonce nearly posted her fifth career top 10, tying for 11th with a 228 (73-76-79).
Abonce paces UTSA with a 74.22 stroke average through nine rounds this fall. Her top finish was a third-place tie at the Badger Invitational where she carded a 1-over-par 217 (73-72-72).
Williams stands second on the squad with a 75.0 scoring mark, while Ellison is close behind at 75.89.
This will mark UTSA’s fifth appearance in the Dale NcNamara Invitational. Last year, the Roadrunners claimed third place behind Camryn Carreon’s individual win. Ellison tied for 15th with a 217 (72-72-73), Bastarrica was 27th (74-72-74—220), Williams tied for 42nd (77-72-74—223) and Abonce placed 52nd (75-79-72—226).
