SAN ANTONIO – First-year UTSA head men’s basketball coach Austin Claunch rounds out his inaugural roster with the announcement on Wednesday that the Roadrunners have added center Mo Njie to join the 2024-25 UTSA roster.

Njie comes to San Antonio following two seasons at SMU, where he played in 38 games for the Mustangs. At 6-foot-11, 250 pounds, the Centerville, Ohio big man started his career at Eastern Michigan, where he started 25 of 28 games while shooting 61.9 percent for 6.6 points per game and reaching double-figures in seven contests. At EMU in 2021-22, he also tallied 5.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per outing, earning selection to the MAC All-Freshman team. Njie played post-grad at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, helping lead the squad to a third-place finish at PhenomHoops Post Grad Nationals. Coming out of Centerville High School, Njie was a three-star prospect (Rivals, 247Sports), earning All-State second team, selection to the Associated Press All-Ohio honorable mention and was twice named as a first-team all-conference honoree. He averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 2.2 assists as a senior – taking ownership of three school records with 122 career blocks, 12 blocks in a game and a 63.0 percent career field goal percentage.

With the new school year underway, the Roadrunners are back at work preparing for the first season under Claunch’s leadership and working to build a new identity with 15 total new players appearing on the roster this season.
