IRVING, Texas – UTSA volleyball newcomer Ally Tribe has been selected as the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, marking back-to-back weeks in which a Roadrunner has claimed the accolade.
Tribe impressed at the Roadrunner Classic, cracking the all-tournament team after posting 3.80 kills per set across contests with Alabama and Sam Houston. She posted 16 kills against the Crimson Tide, before logging 22 terminations at a .287 clip against the Bearkats. Tribe also recorded a pair of service aces for 44.0 total points and charted eight blocks and eight digs.
She represents a first-time selection and joins classmate Martina Franco as a 2024 honoree. Franco received the award on Sept. 9, following a pair of double-doubles and 13 aces at the UTSA Invitational.
The last time UTSA had multiple Freshmen of the Week in a single season came in 2019, when Bianca Ejesieme and Courtney Walters accomplished the feat in Conference USA.
