Q&A with UTSA Baseball's Mason Lytle

Get to know UTSA baseball student-athlete Mason Lytle in this Q&A. 

Q: Why did you choose UTSA?

Mason Lytle: "I chose UTSA for many reasons, the main one being the relationship I built with the coaches and the trust I had in them before I even got here. It is also within three hours of my hometown, which is great. My family gets to watch a lot of games." 

Q: What do you like most about being a student-athlete at UTSA? 

Mason Lytle: "I like the engagement that each sport has with other sports." 

Q: How did you first get involved in playing baseball? 

Mason Lytle: "I have been throwing a ball and swinging a bat since I could walk. The first word I ever said was 'ball.'"

Q: What are you majoring in and what do you hope to do following your athletic career? 

Mason Lytle: "I have a bachelor's degree in general studies and I am going to pursue an MBA this upcoming year. I would love to open my own sports performance facility down the road sometime." 

Q: What is an interesting fact about you that most people might not know? 

Mason Lytle: "I enjoy nature and being outside."  

Q: Who is your role model? 

Mason Lytle: "My role model is Jesus Christ. There is nobody else I would rather strive to be like." 

Q: Who have been the most influential people in your life? 

Mason Lytle: "My parents have been the most influential people in my life. They have sacrificed a lot for me to get the exposure and skills I needed to get where I am now."
