SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Athletics is proud to be San Antonio’s Home Team. The 2024 UTSA Football season will feature a Salute to Hometown Heroes, honoring the important contributions they have made to this great city.
Each UTSA Football game this season will honor a different group of Hometown Heroes. The celebration will include special ticket offers and an opportunity for fans to nominate Hometown Heroes - those who have made a difference in their lives - for on-field recognition.
“At UTSA Athletics, we are incredibly proud to launch our ‘Salute to Hometown Heroes’ initiative for this football season,” said Brad Smith, UTSA Deputy Athletics Director. “This initiative is our way of honoring the brave men and women – our military personnel, first responders, healthcare workers, essential workers, local businesses and educators – who make extraordinary sacrifices to educate and keep our community safe and thriving. We invite everyone to join us at the Alamodome to celebrate these local heroes and show our gratitude for their unwavering commitment. Let’s make this season unforgettable, not just for our team, but for the heroes who inspire us every day.”
The Salute to Hometown Heroes schedule includes:
· Kennesaw State (Aug. 31) – Salute to Educators
· Houston Christian (Sept. 21) – Salute to First Responders
· Florida Atlantic (Oct. 19) – Salute to Healthcare
· Memphis (Nov. 2) – Salute to Local Businesses
