SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Athletics announced Wednesday a partnership with Wendy’s, a globally acclaimed fast-food hamburger chain. Best known for its made-to-order square hamburgers, using fresh, never frozen beef, Wendy’s is now the Presenting Sponsor of UTSA Women’s Athletics.
Elements of the partnership include in-game activations and sponsored social media content at UTSA women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball events beginning with the upcoming 2024-25 season.
“We are excited to partner with Wendy’s and are grateful for their support of UTSA Athletics,” said Lisa Campos, UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics. “Wendy’s dedication to serving and connecting with the local community puts them in perfect alignment with our own mission. This partnership will help bring greater awareness to the UTSA brand and, particularly, our women’s athletics programs.”
Wendy’s is known for its commitment to making a difference in the communities it serves. It has long been a supporter of women’s athletics and is both the Official Hamburger of March Madness and the official hamburger of the WNBA’s Dallas Wings.
“As Wendy’s franchisees in San Antonio, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with UTSA Women’s Athletics,” Wendy’s franchisees of San Antonio said in a collective statement. “This collaboration embodies our commitment to supporting local communities and empowering the next generation of athletes. Together, we look forward to achieving new heights of excellence both on and off the field.”
