Carreon to make Epson Tour debut this weekend

SAN ANTONIO — Former UTSA standout Camryn Carreon is set to make her Epson Tour debut on Friday-Sunday, June 7-9, at the Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship, which will be held at Battle Creek Country Club (par 72/6,598 yards) in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Carreon, a San Antonio native, is slated to tee off from No. 10 at 1:09 p.m. Central time on Friday. The second round is set for Saturday before cuts are made for Sunday’s final 18 holes.

Former Roadrunner and Epson Tour veteran Julie Houston, the 2018 Conference USA individual medalist, also is in the field with a scheduled start time of 8:31 a.m. CT on Friday from the 10th tee.

A four-time all-conference performer, Carreon concluded her collegiate career last month with a top-40 finish in the Bryan Regional in what was her fourth consecutive NCAA postseason appearance. She established numerous school records, including a 71.19 stroke average during the 2023-24 season and a career scoring standard of 73.12. She also registered a UTSA-record four victories, 18 top-10 finishes and 58 par-or-better rounds, including 29 sub-70 scorecards.

The Epson Tour is the official qualifying tour of the LPGA Tour and enters its 39th competitive season in 2019. The Epson Tour has been known as the “Road to the LPGA” since 1999, when it was originally given the designation as the LPGA’s official development tour. The LPGA acquired the Epson Tour in 2007, at which point it became the official qualifying tour of the LPGA. A total of 182 women have graduated from the Epson Tour to the LPGA since 1999.
