UTSA places 15 on Athlon Sports Preseason All-AAC Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A total of 15 UTSA Roadrunners were named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team, which was announced on Tuesday.

Place-kicker Chase Allen, running back Kevorian Barnes, defensive lineman Brandon Brown, tight end Oscar Cardenas, defensive lineman Joe Evans, linebacker Jamal Ligon and money backer Donyai Taylor all landed on the first team.

Second-team selections included wide receiver Devin McCuin, safety Ken Robinson and offensive lineman Venly Tatafu. Offensive lineman Cory Godinet and outside linebacker Jimmori Robinson made the third team, while wide receiver De’Corian Clark, offensive lineman Makai Hart and running back Robert Henry were picked for the fourth team.

The Roadrunners' seven first-team honorees are tied with Memphis for the top total in the league, while their 15 total selections match Tulane for the second-highest total behind Memphis (17). The complete team can be found by visiting athlonsports.com.

Earlier this month, Athlon Sports chose Jeff Traylor as its top head coach in The American for the 2024 season.

The Roadrunners will kick off the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, when they host Kennesaw State at 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.

Fans can purchase season tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays. Current UTSA football season-ticket holders may renew their tickets by logging into their UTSA Account Manager.

Season tickets start as low as $90 per seat. Payment plans for all season ticket packages are available. 

Current UTSA students receive free admission to all home games by downloading tickets via their Account Manager.
