SAN ANTONIO – On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2024 men’s tennis Academic All-District team honorees, with UTSA men’s tennis junior Danijal Muminovic appearing among the awardees for the second consecutive year.
Formerly known as CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), CSC's 2024 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
A steady performer in both facets for the Roadrunners, Muminovic is maintaining a 3.95 cumulative grade point average with a major in Business Analytics and a minor in Management Science. He is part of the Honors College program with an experiential enrichment component. Originally from Tuzla, Bosnia, he was also previously named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete in 2022 and 2023, was only the third men’s tennis Roadrunner to earn a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic Team and garnered two Commissioner's Academic Medals.
A member of the UTSA President's List and Dean's List throughout his time with the Roadrunners, Muminovic was a mainstay on the fourth line and played all 20 matches in singles this season for the Roadrunners with a 9-5 record on four and 9-8 mark overall.
Muminovic has been an important component in pushing UTSA to a national ranking in consecutive seasons, with the Roadrunners reaching No. 69 this season. He clinched the match in UTSA’s ranked triumph over No. 60 Utah State and captured straight-set victories to aid UTSA’s back-to-back wins over defending Pac-12 Champion Utah. Last year, the program earned 18 victories and made an NCAA At-Large appearance with Muminovic playing on the fifth line and producing a 13-8 record.
