UTSA falls to UT Arlington on the road

ARLINGTON, Texas – The UTSA women’s tennis team fell to UT Arlington by 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Mavericks’ UTA Tennis Center.

 

In doubles action, the Roadrunners and Mavs battled at all three courts. UT Arlington earned the first court win, before UTSA tied it up with a third court victory. The duo of Vittoria Baccino and Aleksandra Zlatarova defeated Ana Paula Jimenez and Sarina Reinertsen by 6-4 to force it down to the last doubles court. The Mavs took the second court, thus winning the doubles point to take a 1-0 advantage.

 

UT Arlington took wins at the third and fifth spots, extending its lead to 3-0 and just one point shy of clinching the match. At the No. 2 spot, Zlatarova battled with Reinertsen through three sets. Zlatarova won the first set by 6-1, but Reinertsen took the second two sets by 6-3 and 6-0. The Roadrunners fell to the Mavericks by 4-0.

 

The Roadrunners fall to a 9-4 record, while the Mavs improve to a 10-4 record.
