GREENWOOD, Ind. — On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators released its 2023-24 women's basketball academic all-district honorees, with graduate student Hailey Atwood and sophomore Sidney Love representing UTSA on the list.
The duo are the third and fourth selections in program history, and this is the first time a Roadrunner was picked since Ryba Pawlaczyk in the 2008-09 campaign.
After graduating from UTSA with a bachelor's in criminology and criminal justice, Atwood was selected following a stellar year that's seen her maintain a 3.92 GPA while pursuing a master's in business administration. She'll add the honor to an already packed trophy case that features the 2022-23 C-USA Scholar Athletic of the Year award and an NJCAA Academic All-America accolade from her time at Blinn.
Love, meanwhile, has a 3.51 GPA in business administration and started in all but one of UTSA's 33 contests. She's logged 9.6 ppg on the season, along with 122 rebounds and 100 assists.
The pair are now on the ballot for CSC Academic All-America, with that team set to be announced on Tuesday, April 16.
