SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's basketball team is set to host Temple on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Additionally, the American Athletic Conference contest will serve as the 'Runners annual Black History Month game

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with Karl Schoening providing play-by-play alongside Carlie Heineman. Neal Raphael will deliver the radio call in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app

The Roadrunners (13-11, 7-6 The American) split across a pair of tough road contests last time out, first falling to Tulsa, 74-70, before besting a first-place North Texas team, 66-63.

For their performances across the week, senior Jordyn Jenkins was named AAC Player of the Week, while freshman Aysia Proctor was awarded the league's Freshman of the Week accolade.

Jenkins was excellent, logging 11 points and seven rebounds against the Golden Hurricane before scoring 29 with four rebounds at UNT. Meanwhile, Proctor charted 10 points in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and added 16 more inside The Super Pit.

UTSA remains ranked inside the top-10 nationally in a trio of statistics, including rebounds per game, where a mark of 45.5 sits sixth, and in offensive rebounds with 16.4 a game, also slotting them sixth. The Roadrunners rank ninth in rebound margin, collecting 10.2 more than the opposition, and 29 defensive rebounds per game top the AAC and rank 22nd overall. UTSA also leads The American, holding their opponents to a 36.8% shooting clip that is 28th across the NCAA, and 4.7 blocks per game place them 30th nationally.

Senior Kyra White and redshirt junior Elyssa Coleman remain near the top of the league leader board, as White ranks second with 4.9 assists per game and also sits second, playing 34.6 minutes per game. Coleman records the second-most blocks per game of anybody in the AAC, swatting 4.9 each time out.

The Owls (15-10, 9-4 The American) have been one of the hottest teams in the conference, riding a three-game winning streak into the matchup and tying with UNT for first place in the league. Recently picking up wins over South Florida, UAB, and Tulane, Temple previously bested UTSA 71-58 in the American Athletic Conference opener on Dec. 30.

White, Coleman, and freshman Idara Udo all performed well in the squad's earlier matchup, as White dropped 16 points, while Coleman logged 11 and Udo 10. Sophomore Sidney Love put in a solid shift, tying Coleman with seven rebounds.

An incredibly efficient squad, the Owls top the league with a plus-5.04 turnover margin that ranks 19th nationally, and 16.3 offensive rebounds per game rank just behind UTSA in eighth.

Aleah Nelson has played a significant role in the Owl's success, maintaining a 2.02 assist/turnover ratio for the second-best in The American, and she is the squad's leading scorer, averaging 12.4 ppg. Not far behind, Tiarra East manages 12.0 ppg, and Rayne Tucker pulls down 7.9 rpg for the most on the team.
