Drew Davis joins UTSA volleyball as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Carol Price-Torok has added Drew Davis to the UTSA volleyball staff

SAN ANTONIO — On Friday, head UTSA volleyball coach Carol Price-Torok announced the hiring of Drew Davis, who will join the squad as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator after spending six seasons in a similar role at North Dakota State.

“I am so excited to welcome Drew Davis to our program!” said Price-Torok. “Drew will be a perfect fit, and his knowledge and passion for the game will take our team to new heights. He will be an integral member of the staff, and his expertise on the recruiting trail will help us continue to grow and put UTSA volleyball on the map … Welcome to San Antonio, Drew!”

Davis is coming off the heels of an 18-11 season at NDSU, where he's helped build their program into one of the Summit League's best. Among his highlights in Fargo, Davis helped the Bison to their first-ever appearance in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship in 2022, when the team went 21-12 and ranked seventh nationally in kills (1,759) and 10th in assists (1,615).

Before living in North Dakota, Davis spent the 2017 season as a volunteer assistant for Creighton, when the Bluejays compiled a 26-7 record that featured a 16-2 mark in Big East action. Across that season, he helped the squad win the Big East regular season and tournament championships en route to a first-round NCAA Tournament win over Coastal Carolina.

Collegiately, Davis spent time at Erskine before heading to Limestone College, where his senior seasons saw him appear in 19 matches and 61 sets, compiling 113 digs, 97 kills, and 25 blocks.

Davis hails from Ashville, N.C., and he graduated from Limestone in 2017 with a bachelor's in education and a minor in coaching.
