SAN ANTONIO — On Monday, UTSA volleyball head coach Carol Price-Torok announced the program will embark on a European Tour spanning 10 Days and five cities in May of 2024. Donations for the trip are being accepted at the following link: raf.utsa.edu/volleyball
“We’re excited for the opportunity to continue to train and take a trip of this caliber,” said coach Price-Torok on the prospects of the trip. “Our players will gain international volleyball experience as well as continue to increase team dynamics through enriching cultural experiences.”
The Roadrunners will visit and play matches in Budapest, Maribor, Florence, Venice, and Rome, interwoven with cultural stops along the way. Supporters are invited to donate any amount to the cause; however, for $1,500, you can cover a player’s flight, $2,500 will cover a student-athlete’s cultural experiences, and $4,000 a player’s entire trip.
This will mark the second European Tour in program history, as the team last ventured across the pond in 2016, visiting Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Italy in what served as an enriching experience for the student-athletes both on and off the court. Additionally, as part of the expedition, the team competed in exhibition matches against the professional Serbian team Dinamo-Belgrade, the Croatian National Junior Team, the Slovenian Junior National Team, and the professional Italian team, Club Italia.
