SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox has announced that the Roadrunners are welcoming sprinter Nabil Tezkratt to the Roadrunners’ squad for the spring semester.“Nabil Tezkratt is a driven and talented sprinter who already has a wealth of competition experience on the international stage,” Fox said. “We are looking forward providing him the resources in training and academics to help him succeed to his potential both in the classroom and in competition.”
A long sprinter coming out of East London, Tezkratt is a 2021 graduate of Robert Clack School of Science in London and has run for Woodford Green Athletic Club since 2016. With a specialty in the 400m, Tezkratt won the Essex County Schools Championships 200m as a freshman and began competing heavily on the international stage in 2021 - earning second in the 400m at the ESAA - New Balance English Schools Championships, representing England on the National U20 team at the Manchester International and then winning the National Athletics League Premier London North title.
Most recently, Tezkratt reached a 400m personal best of 46.19 during the 2023 French Championships in Albi, alongside numerous professional athletes, going on to finish sixth in the national meet. Finishing fifth at the National Athletics League Premiership in Glasgow, Scotland, Tezkratt ran a 21.63 in the 200m against 1.8 headwind in August for a new top mark. He also notched a 10.55 in the 100m in London last July at the Newham & Essex Beagles Summer Series.
He also registered a windy personal-best 200m at the NAL in London with a 20.97.
