SAN ANTONIO - Former UTSA women’s tennis player Keegan McCain, who currently serves as a graduate assistant for UTSA Student-Athlete Academic Services, has been selected to attend the 2024 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar, to be held Feb. 6-8 in Indianapolis.
The NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar is a three-day professional development event that provides leadership, educational and transitional programming for current graduate assistants and inters from NCAA member schools and conference offices to equip them with the skills necessary to accelerate their career progression in college sports.
McCain, an Austin, Texas, native, is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration from UTSA’s Carlos Alvarez College of Business. McCain is a recipient of the NCAA’s Women’s Enhancement Graduate Scholarship, which awards $10,000 each to 13 female college graduates seeking a degree program that will help them obtain a career in intercollegiate athletics.
McCain is also a two-time attendee of the NCAA’s Career in Sports Forum and also attended the 2023 American Athletic Conference Academic Symposium.
McCain, who played tennis for the Roadrunners from 2019-23, graduated magna cum laude through the UTSA Honors College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Marketing. She served on the UTSA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and represented UTSA on the Conference USA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In the summer of 2023, she participated in a UTSA-led global business immersion and study abroad to Technische Universität Darmstadt in Germany.
