UTSA set to compete in NCAA Regionals

Fayetteville, ARK. — The UTSA cross country teams will continue postseason competition at the NCAA South Central Regional on Friday, Nov. 10 at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

 

The meet will open with the women’s 6,000-meter run at 10:30 a.m. (CT), followed by the men’s 10k at 11:30 a.m. Results will be posted online on FlashResults.

 

On the men’s team, junior Colton Stunkard has led the Roadrunners in three of their four races this season. The Texas City, Texas, native hit a personal record time in the 8k race at the American Athletic Conference Championships. On the women’s team, freshman and San Antonio native Melody Espinoza has led UTSA in all four meets, also earning a personal record time at the conference championship meet. At the American Athletic Championships on Oct. 28, the men’s team placed 10th, led by Stunkard in 25th place, while the women’s team placed 12th, led by Melody Rodriguez in 21st place.

 

Qualifiers from the NCAA Regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 18 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
