DALLAS — The American Athletic Conference announced its Preseason Coaches’ Poll and honors on Monday, with senior Jordyn Jenkins representing UTSA on the All-Conference Second Team. Additionally, the Roadrunners were picked to finish eighth in their inaugural AAC campaign.
Jenkins adds this accolade to an already impressive trophy case as she was previously named the 2022-23 Conference-USA Player and Newcomer of the Year.
In the process, Jenkins became the third player in the history of C-USA to win both awards along with First-Team honors. She averaged 20.6 PPG at a 49.3% shooting clip, collecting 7.5 RPG and 1.4 SPG. The Kent, Washington native set the UTSA school record for points in a season, logging 659 while posting nine double-doubles.
As a team, the Roadrunners received 75 points in the preseason coaches poll, slotting them eighth among 14 AAC teams.
South Florida sits atop the poll, receiving 10 first-place votes en route to 166 total points. Just behind USF, East Carolina was picked second with four first-place nods and 159 points.
Rice was selected third, scoring 135, SMU fourth, and Memphis fifth. Tulane was picked sixth and Tulsa seventh, just ahead of the Roadrunners.
Rounding out the group, Temple was slotted ninth, Charlotte 10th, Wichita State 11th, North Texas 12th, UAB 13th, and Florida Atlantic 14th.
