AAC announces preseason predicted order of finish

DALLAS – Kicking off the American Athletic Conference Media Day, officials from the league office announced on Monday the 2023-24 men’s basketball predicted order of finish. Coming off a 10-22 finish and entering the AAC this season, the UTSA Roadrunners were picked at 14th.

Returning a solid roster from last year’s Final Four run, Florida Atlantic was picked as the preseason favorite with 11 of the league’s head coach votes, while reigning AAC Tournament champion Memphis was chosen second with three first-place votes.

In addition, the league’s coaches selected the preseason all-conference teams and award honorees. Preseason Player of the Year was a co-honor that went to Florida Atlantic, with junior guards Johnell Davis and Alijah Martin receiving the early accolades. Memphis also produced a shared honor, with guard Carl Cherenfant and forward JJ Taylor were recognized as Preseason Players of the Year.
