IRVING, Texas — UTSA’s first American Athletic Conference home game against UAB on Saturday, Oct. 14, will be televised nationally on ESPNU and kick off at 7 p.m. at the Alamodome, the league office announced Monday.
Tickets are on sale by calling 210-458-UTSA (8872) or visiting goUTSA.com/tickets.
The Roadrunner and Blazers will meet for the seventh consecutive season and eighth time overall when the two teams face off on national television. UAB holds a 4-3 edge in the all-time series but UTSA has won the last two meetings, both in dramatic fashion.
Last year, the Roadrunners pulled out a 44-38 road victory in double overtime. Joshua Cephus caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Frank Harris and the defense came up with a fourth-down stop in the second extra period to seal UTSA’s first-ever win in Birmingham.
In 2021, UTSA rallied for a 34-31 home triumph that clinched the Conference USA West Division title. Oscar Cardenas hauled in the game-winning touchdown pass from Harris in the final seconds to secure a spot in the C-USA Championship Game, which UTSA won over Western Kentucky.
The Roadrunners (1-3, 0-0) will travel to Philadelphia this Saturday, Oct. 7, to open AAC play against Temple (2-3, 0-1). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT at Lincoln Financial Field and the game will air on ESPN+ and Ticket 760.
