COLLEGE STATION, Texas— UTSA cross country concluded its regular season at Texas A&M’s Arturo Barrios Invitational on Friday morning at Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas.
Colton Stunkard crossed the finish line first for the Roadrunners at a personal best of 24:34.8 for 92nd place out of 365 runners in the men’s 8K. Caden Cunningham followed that with a personal record time of 24:57.6. OJ Ruiz found the finish line at 25:24.4, while Landon Blankenship came across just a few seconds later with a personal-best time of 25:29.8. Adrian Orozco then concluded the race 10 seconds later at a personal-best 25:39.0.
Idol Ramon crossed the finish line at 26:06.3. In his first collegiate race, Victor Charo was the final Roadrunner to score as he followed at 26:39.0. Gabe Hernandez finished the 8K at 27:23.8 and Dominick Landin crossed the finish line at 28:12.6.
Freshman Melody Espinoza continues to pace the Roadrunners, hitting a personal best of 21:42.7 to take 156th place out of 397 runners in the women’s 6000-meter run. Marissa Espinoza hit a personal-best time of 22:06.4. Brooke Veltman crossed the finish line at a personal best of 22:31.2, while Taylor Cochran (22:41.5) and Jadelyn Malesich went back-to-back in personal bests. Chante Dixon (personal best of 22:44.1) and Luzaan De Wit (23:20.1) rounded out UTSA’s scoring runners.
Itzel Rojo crossed the finish line at a personal best time of 23:25.8, while Sidney Bravo followed shortly after with a personal record of 23:27.7. Savannah Lopez finished with a time of 24:14.2, while freshman Maggie Lowry rounded out the Roadrunners with a personal-best time of 25:44.5.
Next up, the Roadrunners will head to Greenville, N.C., to compete in the American Athletic Championship on Saturday, Oct. 28.
