UTSA places league-high 15 on PFF Preseason All-AAC Team

CINCINNATI, Ohio — UTSA has placed 15 student-athletes on the Pro Football Focus (PFF) Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team.

UTSA's 15 overall selections lead the league, four more than defending champion Tulane. Additionally, six Roadrunners landed on the first team, also a high-water mark among AAC schools.

First-team honorees include tight end Oscar Cardenas, wide receivers Joshua Cephus and De'Corian Clark, cornerback Nicktroy Fortune, quarterback Frank Harris and edge Trey Moore.

Five Roadrunners landed on the second squad, including running back Kevorian Barnes, defensive lineman Nick Booker-Brown, punter Lucas Dean, offensive lineman Makai Hart and safety Rashad Wisdom.

Return specialist Chris Carpenter, offensive lineman Terrell Haynes, linebacker Jamal Ligon and safety Kelechi Nwachuku were chosen for the third team.

The Roadrunners will kick off their 13th season of play and first as a member of the American Athletic Conference on Saturday, Sept. 2, when they travel to Houston to face the Cougars at 6 p.m. at TDECU Stadium.

UTSA will face Texas State for the home opener at 2:30 p.m. the following Saturday at the Alamodome. The Roadrunners will host Army at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, UAB on Oct. 14, East Carolina on Oct. 28, Rice on Nov. 11 and South Florida at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.
