HOUSTON – The second-seeded UTSA baseball team dropped an 11-2 decision to No. 3 seed Charlotte in an elimination game at the C-USA Championships on Thursday morning at Reckling Park.

- Matt King and Garrett Poston each recorded two hits to lead the Roadrunners.

BREAKDOWN OF THE GAME
The 49ers got off to an early start, scattering three runs across the first two frames to take a 3-0 lead.
In the top of the third, Simon Miller held Charlotte scoreless to put its first zero on the board while also picking up a pair of strikeouts. In the bottom of the frame, the Roadrunners cut the 49ers' lead to 3-2 with a leadoff solo home run by Poston and RBI single by Taylor Smith.
The fourth frame was the first of only two innings to go scoreless on both sides. Miller got two quick outs on a flyout and groundout, before allowing a single. A lineout after that ended the top of the fourth unscathed.
Charlotte added another run in the fifth to extend its lead to 4-2. In the sixth, Miller forced a quick 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts and a groundout.
In the final three frames, the 49ers added seven more runs to extend their lead to 11-2. The Roadrunners weren't able to get anything going at the plate, only seeing two baserunners in the final three innings. UTSA fell to Charlotte in the elimination game, 11-2, ending its phenomenal season.
