UTSA celebrates more than 70 student-athlete graduates

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics celebrated 73 student-athlete spring and summer graduates in a pair of ceremonies this month.

The baseball team and Camryn Carreon from the women's golf program were honored on May 13 due to travel conflicts with their competition schedules, while UTSA recognized the rest of the student-athletes on May 19 before UTSA Commencement was held on May 20.

"These student-athletes have reached a significant milestone in their academic careers," UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos said. "They have earned a college degree through hard work, responsibility and dedication in the classroom while balancing a full schedule as an NCAA Division I student-athlete. These graduates are leaders who are prepared to contribute to the world ahead of them and we know they will serve as outstanding ambassadors of UTSA."
