DALLAS – After earning College Sport Communicators Academic All-District honors just three days ago, the trio of Luke Malone, Simon Miller and Isaiah Walker from the UTSA baseball team have now been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.
The Roadrunners are the only school in the conference to have three student-athletes on the list this year.
Malone has been the Roadrunners' Friday/first game ace, setting the tone every single weekend since the season started. The Preseason Conference USA Team honoree totes a 6-4 record in 13 starts and 15 appearances. This marks Malone's second consecutive year earning C-USA All-Academic Team honors.
Miller has been unstoppable for UTSA this season with the fifth-best ERA, eighth-most saves and 23rd-most wins in the nation. The Canton, Texas, native was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team prior to the start of the season. This is Miller's first time earning all-academic honors from the league.
Walker has been a key player in the outfield for the Roadrunners this season. Holding down the right field spot in UTSA's lineup, he has collected 23 runs and 11 RBI. The Rosharon, Texas, native has earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in his time at UTSA as a Mathematics major. This is also Walker's first time earning conference all-academic team.
