SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team (6-27) opens up a four-game homestand on Tuesday night, with Houston Christian (14-20) traveling to Roadrunner Field in midweek action. The Roadrunners and Huskies are meeting for the 30th time and are scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday, April 4.

- Last week, UTSA dropped road contests at No. 21 Baylor and FIU, going 0-4 on the week.
- Junior Shortstop Kat Ibarra leads the UTSA offense in BA (.358), hits (39), runs (23), slugging percentage (.541), on-base percentage (.444), doubles (11), triples (3), walks (17) and stolen bases (6) – On defense, Ibarra has a team-high 47 assists (with 60 putouts), nine (9) double plays and has delivered the tag on six caught-stealing plays.

Series vs. Houston Christian
Previously known as Houston Baptist until September 2022, Houston Christian and UTSA will meet for the 30th time on Tuesday. The Roadrunners hold a 22-7 lead in the series, which dates to 1992, when the Huskies were the very first opponent UTSA softball ever played – meeting in a doubleheader in San Antonio. The teams met last season in Houston with a 9-1 UTSA win, marking two straight for the Roadrunners. UTSA has won the last four at home in San Antonio, and nine of the last 10.

- HCU comes to Roadrunner Field at 14-20 overall and 4-5 in Southland Conference play.
- The Huskies were 19-29 a year ago, but reached the semifinal round of the SLC tournament.

- Mary-Ellen Hall is in her 32nd season coaching the Huskies and has a record of 874-626 (.583).
