COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UTSA baseball team took down SEC powerhouse Texas A&M by 5-1 on Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park.

- Uli Quiroga earned his fifth win of the season (5-1), tossing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts in the first and second.
- Five Roadrunners notched two hits each, including Taylor Smith, Shane Sirdashney, Matt King, Isaiah Walker and Tye Odom.

- The Roadrunners improved a 25-8 overall record, while Texas A&M fell to a 22-11 overall record.
BREAKDOWN OF THE GAME
After a scoreless first inning, the Roadrunners opened up scoring in the top of the second as a single by Odom and double by Smith gave UTSA an early 2-0 lead.
On the mound, Quiroga kept the Aggies scoreless while striking out two in the first two frames.
UTSA then extended its lead to 5-0 in the top of the third. Sammy Diaz launched a solo home run, his fifth jack of the season. Odom lined a double to right field to drive in two more and give the Roadrunners a five-run lead. Daniel Shafer came in as UTSA's first reliever in the third, pitching 1-2-3 third and fourth frames.
The fourth through eighth innings went scoreless as pitching dominated the game. Riojas pitched the fifth and sixth, while forcing a three up and three down sixth frame. Luke Malone then came in and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh frame.
Coming in to close out the game, Simon Miller struck out two batters and kept the Aggies off the board in the eighth. The Aggies got two runners in the ninth frame and were able to convert it for a single run. Miller continued to fight through it and ended the inning with a swinging strikeout and popup, leading UTSA to a 5-1 win over Texas A&M.

The Roadrunners return home for the first time in 12 days, hosting a three-game conference series against Middle Tennessee this Friday-Sunday. All three games will be streamed on CUSA.tv with first pitch times of 6 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
