UTSA heads East to face Georgia State and Charlotte

SAN ANTONIO – Riding a ten-match win streak and a program record 37 ITA ranking, UTSA will head to the East Coast to face off with Georgia State and Charlotte over the weekend.
 
The Roadrunners (12-4) have won ten straight matches with five of the last seven wins coming over top-75 ranked schools. Georgia State (3-9) has lost six of its last eight matches, including the previous one against No. 57 Florida Atlantic. Charlotte (5-8) has lost four of five, including two to ranked schools (No. 62 ODU and No. 22 Duke).
 
UTSA will meet the Panthers on Friday, March 17, at 1 p.m. CT and will then meet the 49ers on Sunday, March 19, at 12 p.m. CT.
 
Junior Alan Magadan has a team-high ten wins in solos action to lead the team while the duo pair of Garrett Skelly and Jackson Ross have six wins to lead all doubles groups. Sebastian Rodriguez and Tomás Pinho are currently 4-0 since being grouped together for doubles play.
 
UTSA's doubles pair of Rodriguez and Alan Magadan remain in the top 20 of the ITA national rankings as the duo was recently announced as the 16th-best tandem in the country following the March 7 update.
 
Series History
Georgia State – The Roadrunners and the Panthers will meet on the tennis court for the first time in either program's history.
                                                                                                                       
Charlotte – UTSA and Charlotte will meet for the fourth time in school history, with the 49ers winning all three of the matches. UTSA is 0-2 against Charlotte in the Queen City and the teams last met last March when the 49ers won 4-2.
 
Up Next
Following a two-game road trip, UTSA will return home to the UTSA Tennis Center for a pair of home matches. On Wednesday, March 22, UTSA will host Denver at 1 p.m. and on Friday, March 24, UTSA will host William & Mary at 1 p.m.
