NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The UTSA baseball team improved to a 15-3 record following a 9-3 win over SFA at Jaycees Field on Tuesday night.

BREAKDOWN OF THE GAME
After a scoreless first inning, the Lumberjacks struck first as they plated two runs in the bottom of the second. The Roadrunners then responded in the top of the third. A single by Valdez drove in Isaiah Walker, before Valdez and King came in to score on a single by Hill to give UTSA a 3-2 lead. SFA scored another run in the bottom of the third to even the score at 3-3.
After a scoreless fourth frame, UTSA regained the lead in the top of the fifth as the Roadrunners plated a pair of runs on a single by King and a sacrifice fly by Josh Killeen. UTSA extended its lead to 7-3 in the sixth inning as Shane Sirdashney blasted a two-run homerun, his first jack of the season.
The seventh and eighth frames went scoreless as the Roadrunners' pitching continued to battle through a few jams and get through them unscathed. UTSA brought home a couple more runs on a sacrifice fly by King and solo homerun by Hill, leading UTSA to a 9-3 win over SFA.
The Roadrunners improve to an 15-3 record, while SFA fell to a 6-11 overall record.

The Roadrunners return home to open conference play, hosting Florida Atlantic for a three-game series on Friday-Sunday, March 17-19.
