Tucker pulled down a season-high six rebounds and dished five assists for the second consecutive game. Germany pulled down a game-high seven rebounds, marking the second straight game he's done so. UTSA leading-scorer Isaiah Addo-Ankrah knocked down four three-pointers for the third time this season and added six rebounds.
The Rundown
UTSA and Louisiana Tech combined to score 47 points in the opening half as each team's defense made life difficult for the other. The under-12 media timeout saw Louisiana Tech hold a 5-4 lead as each team was shooting under 20 percent. UTSA took its first lead of the game, 7-5, with 9:58 on the clock in the first half thanks to an Isaiah Addo-Ankrah three-pointer. Each team had a bit of a scoring run to push the score to 14-all with 4:44 left on the game clock. From there, the Bulldogs went on an 11-4 run to close the period, taking a 25-18 lead into halftime. UTSA was held to its lowest point total in any half this season in the first stanza. At the break, Addo-Ankrah led all Roadrunners with five points while Richards and Germany each had four.
In the early portion of the second half, Louisiana Tech pushed forward to gain a 12-point advantage thanks to a pull-up jumper and three-pointer by Cobe Williams and Keaston Willis. UTSA responded by rattling off seven points of its own as Addo-Ankrah connected from deep and then Germany connected on back-to-back baskets to cut the Bulldog lead to five. UTSA was able to get the Louisiana Tech lead down to as few as three with 13:15 remaining but the Bulldogs struck back, regaining a ten-point lead in just three minutes, holding a 48-38 advantage with 10:02 left on the clock. La Tech held serve from there, not letting UTSA come back or feel comfortable, going on to win the game 66-55.
