Trio of Roadrunners named All-South Region Team

SAN ANTONIO – Three Roadrunners were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team as Kendall Kloza earned first team honors and Kiran Singh and Anna Sutter earned second team honors. This marks the first time UTSA has landed student-athletes on the United Soccer Coaches regional teams.

Kloza was named to the All-South Region First Team after leading the Roadrunners' unbreakable defensive line all season. The San Antonio, Texas, native helped lead UTSA to nine shutouts and the second-best defensive stats in Conference USA this season. Kloza led the team with 1982 minutes played, while playing the entire match in 19 out of UTSA's 22 matches. The senior recorded 10 points, consisting of two goals and six assists throughout the 2022 campaign. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over North Texas in the C-USA Semifinal. After leading the Roadrunners to their first C-USA Championship title in program history, she was named the Tournament Defensive MVP. Kloza was also named to the All-Conference Second Team for the second season in a row.

Singh was named to the All-South Region Second Team after leading the dominant UTSA offense that was second in the conference in every offensive category. The Cypress, Texas, native led the team in almost every offensive category individually. Singh had the team-high in shots (45 – 18 on goal), goals (seven), assists (six) and points (20) in the 2022 campaign. She also led the team in key passes and successful dribbles. Singh helped lead the Roadrunners to their first C-USA Championship in program history, scoring a goal in the championship match against Florida Atlantic. Singh was named to the All-Conference Second Team at the conclusion of the regular season.

Sutter was named to the All-South Region Second Team. Throughout the past season, she has been an integral piece of the midfield's play and attack. She has contributed the second most points on the team (15) this season as well as the team leader in minutes played on the attack (1554). The Herisau AR, Switzerland, native has scored three game-winning goals for the Roadrunners in the 2022 campaign, including the game winner against UAB in the tournament quarterfinal. Sutter was named to the All-Conference First Team, the first Roadrunner in program history to earn first team honors since UTSA joined the C-USA in 2013. She was also named the Offensive MVP after leading the Roadrunners to their first C-USA Championship. The sophomore was also named to the conference second team last season, as well as the freshman team.
