SAN ANTONIO – After making school history a few weeks ago, winning the ITA Texas Regional Championships, Alan Magadan and Sebastian Rodriguez are gearing up to compete in the ITA National Championships this week. After leaving for San Diego earlier today, the pair are set to get underway tomorrow, Nov. 2, against Natan Rodrigues and Fabien Salle of Louisville at 6:30 p.m. (CST) in the first round of action.

The Roadrunners will face a solid team as the duo of Rodrigues and Salle teamed up to claim the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship in the middle of October while Salle also won the singles championship at the ITA Ohio Regional. In fact, the singles final featured both Rodrigues and Salle with Salle earning the title.

When asked about how his team was feeling, Coach Avdeyev said, "Our guys feel ready and excited to represent UTSA and San Antonio on the big stage."

The 2022 ITA National Fall Championships will take place November 2-6, 2022, at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California. The Championships are the grand finale to the fall collegiate tennis season and feature 64 of the nation's top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men's teams and 32 women's teams). The event is in its fifth year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships beginning in 2017.
