Roadrunners to return to action this week at The Clerico

SAN ANTONIO — Following a near-three-week layoff, the UTSA men's golf team will return to action this week at The Clerico, which will be hosted by Oral Roberts this Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 24-25, at Oaks Country Club (par 71/7,000 yards) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
The Roadrunners will play against Kansas City, Missouri State, New Mexico State, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Rice, SFA, South Alabama, Southern Utah, Texas State and Utah State. The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday and the individual champion will receive a Korn Ferry Tour exemption.
 
UTSA is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Oct. 2-4 in Dallas. Christian Fanfelle finished in sole possession of fifth with a 9-under-par 207 and David Harrison tied for 13th after carding a 5-under 211 to help the Roadrunners register a 5-under 859. 
 
Fanfelle leads the Roadrunners with a 70.22 stroke average this season. The senior from San Antonio has finished in the top 20 at all three fall tournaments, headlined by the fifth-place showing in his last outing. His 207 was a collegiate career best and is tied for the fifth-best 54-hole total in program history. He also has finished 12th at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate with a 6-under 210 and 18th at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate after carding a 1-under 215.
 
David Harrison ranks second on the squad with a 72.67 scoring average. The senior from Trophy Club, Texas, has logged a pair of top-20 showings this fall, including his tie for 13th at the Trinity Forest and a share of 19th at the Jim Rivers after posting a 4-under 212.
 
Hunter Bott ranks third with a 73.0 mark, while Jack Wehman (74.0) and Brayden Bare (73.8) also will represent UTSA this week.
