DALLAS – Newcomer Jordyn Jenkins has earned another preseason honor for the second day in a row, being named to the Conference USA Preseason All-Conference Team on Thursday.
This award comes just a day after Jenkins was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award Preseason Watch List. The Kent, Wash., native is a transfer from the University of Southern California, where she played the last two seasons. At USC, she led the team offensively in almost every category while starting in 26 of 28 games last season. Jenkins led the Trojan in total points (384/14.8 per game), free throws made (110) and field goals made (134). She had 173 rebounds, the second most on the team. Jenkins was named the Pac-12 Most Improved Player, as well as earning All-Pac 12 Honors at the end of the season.
The conference also announced its preseason coaches' poll, in which the Roadrunners were picked to finish ninth with 36 points. UTSA was voted to be last in last season's preseason poll, making some big strides in the conference this season.
The Roadrunners are set to kick off their 2022-23 campaign on Nov. 7 as they tipoff against Stephen F. Austin at 6:30 p.m. (CT) in Nacogdoches, Texas.
