SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will continue the fall campaign on Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 2-4, at the Trinity Forest Invitational, which will be hosted by SMU at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 72/7,372 yards) in Dallas.
The Roadrunners will line up against Abilene Christian, Baylor, Florida Atlantic, Furman, Houston, Little Rock, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico, North Texas, Sam Houston, SMU, UT Arlington and Wichita State in the 54-hole, stroke-play event. The field will play 18 holes with an 8:30 a.m. start each day.
UTSA is coming off a 14th-place tie at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate last weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Christian Fanfelle fired a 1-under-par 215 (71-73-71) to grab a share of 18th place, while Hunter Bott carded a 221 (71-72-78) to tie for 41st.
The Roadrunners finished eighth at last year's Trinity Forest Invitational behind Michael Rome, who tied for 14th, and Fanfelle, who finished 26th with a 68-78-70—216. Two seasons ago, UTSA claimed runner-up honors at this event behind top-20 showings from Chad Sewell (T-7th), Collin Clark (T-17th) and Fanfelle (T-20th).
