SAN ANTONIO — Following a two-day layoff, the UTSA women's golf team will return to the course on Saturday-Monday, Sept. 24-26, at the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club (par 70/6,112 yards) in Norman, Oklahoma.
The Roadrunners will play against Baylor, Clemson, Florida State, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa and Virginia Tech in the 54-hole, stroke-play event.
UTSA will tee off in the first round on Saturday from No. 1 beginning at 10:40 a.m. The Roadrunners' lineup will feature Morgan Ellison, Camryn Carreon, Olivia Williams, Daniela Abonce and Lauren Rios.
UTSA is coming off an 11th-place finish at the season-opening "Mo"Morial Invitational earlier this week in Bryan-College Station. Ellison posted the top finish of her young college career, tying for 18th place with a 3-over-par 219 (70-75-74) to lead the Roadrunners, while Carreon was 46th (77-74-76—227).
The Roadrunners placed eighth at last year's Schooner Fall Classic behind a 21st-place showing from Carreon, who fired a 4-over-par 214 (73-70-71).
