SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA cross country teams will be back in action on Friday morning when they race in the Texas A&M Invitational at Dale Watts Cross Country Course in Bryan-College Station.
The men's 8,000-meter run is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. followed by the women's 5k at 8:45 a.m. The Roadrunners are slated to compete against Houston, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Texas A&M, Texas A&M International and Texas State.
The meet will mark the second competition of the season for the Roadrunners, who opened the campaign on Sept. 2 at the UIW Twilight.
Abby Balli clocked a 4k time of 14.36.8 to place second and Madi Henry was close behind in fourth place with a 14:54.9 to lead the women to a runner-up finish with 56 points at the UIW Twilight.
Meanwhile, Idol Ramon led the men in the 6k race with a time of 19:23.2 to finish 17th with Michael Paredes right behind him in 19th with a 19:26.6 clocking to help UTSA place sixth.
UTSA finished fourth in the women's race at last year's Texas A&M Invitational, as Maddie Boswell was sixth overall and fifth among collegiate runners, while Balli crossed 12th among collegians to lead the way.
Jake Smith (39th) and Harrison Wade (46th) both placed in the top 50 to help guide the UTSA men to a tie for seventh place last year in Aggieland.
