SAN ANTONIO – UTSA men's tennis had a trio of student-athletes honored with scholar-athlete status, presented by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
UTSA saw Andrew Keene, Javier Gonzalez and Danijal Muminovic earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, three of 933 Division I men's student-athletes tabbed with the award.
In order to be eligible for ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes had to have a 3.5+ GPA for the academic year.
A native of San Fernando, Chile, Gonzalez sported a GPA of 3.83 during the calendar year, while working on a master's of business economics. On the court, he claimed six singles wins and ranked second on the club with a combined 11 doubles wins.
Keene, a product of Corpus Christi, Texas, and a transfer from Michigan State at the end of the 2021 fall semester, totaled a 4.0 GPA as a business analytics major.
A native of Bosnia, Muminovic also earned a 4.0 GPA as a business major. He totaled 11 singles wins – tied for second-best on the team – and teamed with Gonzalez to earn a doubles point.
