SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team wraps up the regular-season this weekend when it hosts FIU for senior weekend May 6-8 at Roadrunner Field.
Friday's first pitch is set for 6 p.m. Saturday will start at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
Scouting UTSA
UTSA enters the series 16-28 overall and 9-11 in conference after falling to Florida Atlantic 3-0 in the series last weekend.
Kat Ibarra continues to lead the team with a .331 batting average. The sophomore has 35 runs, 46 hits, four doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 21 RBIs on the season. Marena Estell still leads the team with 13 home runs and in the circle with a 3.57 ERA. The senior has pitched 80.1 innings with 44 strikeouts.
Scouting FIU
FIU comes into the weekend 18-29 overall and 4-17 in conference. The Panthers were swept by Charlotte in the series April 29-May 1.
Madison Lewis leads the team with a .288 batting average. She has 16 runs, 32 hits, nine doubles, two triples, on home run and 17 RBIs on the season. Kendahl Dunford leads in the circle with a 4.05 ERA. She holds a 6-14 record, pitching 154.0 innings with 114 strikeouts.
Senior Celebrations
Following Saturday's game, UTSA will hold a commencement ceremony on the field for Marena Estell, Riley Grunberg and Lauren Coerver.
After Sunday's game, Riley Grunberg and Lauren Coerver will be recognized for Senior Day.
