SAN ANTONIO – Two of UTSA men's tennis standouts earned All-Conference USA honors in a voting of the league's coaches, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) made the All-Conference Singles First Team and Freshman Tiago Torres (Lisbon, Portugal) earned All-Conference Singles Second team.
Ceolin summed 11 singles win this season, totaling 47 singles career wins. This ties him with Joel Rubio (2012-2015) for being the 5th most winningest player in UTSA men's tennis history. Furthermore, Ceolin earned C-USA player of the week twice and made the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings three times this season with his last ranking at No. 73.
Torres had a standout season as he tallied 17 singles win in his first collegiate career. This puts him in a five-way-tie to being the 9th most winningest season singles win in UTSA men's tennis history. During the season, Torres held a 6-match win streak in singles from his match against Pacific on February 6th up to Abilene Christian on March 5th. Torres had also been named C-USA player of the week.
