Roadrunners host Islanders on Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team returns to Roadrunner Field to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi tomorrow at 6 p.m.
 
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners enter the game 10-20 overall and 4-5 in conference after going 1-2 in a weekend series against Louisiana Tech April 1-3.
 
Kat Ibarra continues to lead the team with a .348 batting average. The sophomore has 25 runs on 32 hits, three triples, three doubles and four home runs. Marena Estell leads the team with seven home runs, and Riley Grunberg follows behind her with six.
 
In the circle, Estell leads with a 4.15 ERA. She has a 3-7 record, pitching 52.1 innings with 30 strikeouts.
 
Scouting TAMUCC
The Islanders come into the matchup 12-20 overall and 0-3 in Southland Conference play after a 2-0 sweep of Texas Southern last week.
 
Pal Egan leads the team with a .396 batting average, including 27 runs on 36 hits and 11 doubles. Beatriz Lara leads the Islanders in the circle with a 3.77 ERA, pitching 26 innings with 19 strikeouts.
 
Both teams meet for this second matchup of the season after UTSA topped the Islanders 9-3 on March 22 in Corpus Christi.
