SAN ANTONIO – UTSA women's tennis head coach Ki Kroll announced the signing of Magda Tuells.
"I'm really excited about Magda, she's a tremendous competitor," Kroll said.
The Ibiza, Spain native comes to UTSA from Valdosta State after spending time at Hillsborough Community College. During her time with the Blazers, Tuells was awarded Freshman of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year. She helped Valdosta to a Region 8 championship and was part of the Blazers' national runner-up team.
The freshman posted a 10-9 this season in singles with a 5-4 record at No. 1 and a 5-5 record at No. 2. She finished the 2022 season with a 9-9 doubles record, highlighted by a 5-3 record at No. 3 with partner Elisa Beau.
Tuells is the second signee of Kroll's signing class for the 2022-23 season.
