Aston signs USC transfer Jordyn Jenkins

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA women's basketball head coach Karen Aston announced the signing of USC transfer Jordyn Jenkins, the Pac-12 Most Improved Player in 2021-22.
 
"Welcoming Jordyn Jenkins to the Roadrunner family has been a very exciting moment for our program," Aston said. "Jordyn is a game changer at her position, She brings a competitive spirit about her that will be contagious for our players and a treat to watch for our fans. We are very blessed that she chose UTSA as her next growth step and believed in our vision. I am so excited to see her take steps in ownership and leadership. She is a perfect complement to our other posts and has the capability of making others around her better. Again, I appreciate her trusting our vision and can't wait to see the impact she has on the program."
 
Jenkins comes to the Alamo City after spending the last two seasons at the University of Southern California. With the Trojans, Jenkins played in 41 games with 35 starts after missing eight games during her debut season due to injury. She scored 478 points, leading USC in scoring in the 2021-22 season with 384. The Kent, Wash., native also posted 236 rebounds, 36 steals, 31 blocks and 41 assists during her time in Los Angeles.

As a sophomore in 2021-22, Jenkins starred for the Trojans, earning All Pac-12 honors and was tabbed Pac-12 Co-Most Improved Player after averaging a team-leading 14.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In Pac-12 play, she averaged 17.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures in 16 consecutive games, had six double-doubles and ranked among the conference and national leaders in shooting percentage. 

 
The forward is a Kentridge High School graduate where she was a three-time all-state first-team honoree. She helped her team to a 2017 state championship title and was a two-time league MVP. Jenkins averaged 21.9 points and 9.2 rebounds in her junior season before a shorted senior season due to injury. She also played for ECBA Swish and Tree of Hope EYBL.
