SAN ANTONIO – UTSA women's tennis has earned the No. 13 seed and will face No. 4 seed Rice on Thursday at 12 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Championship.
The Roadrunners completed the 2022 season with a 4-16 record. UTSA has won three of its last four matches heading into the postseason with wins against Prairie View A&M, New Mexico State and Lamar with the lone setback coming on Friday at TCU.
UTSA will be searching to advance to the semifinals on Saturday, April 23 in a matchup of the winner of No. 5 seed Florida Atlantic and No. 12 seed Middle Tennessee.
The Roadrunners have been paced by senior Jasmin Starr, who has posted a 10-6 singles record at No. 2. Aleksandra Zlatarova has competed in the No. 1 spot for UTSA with a 7-6 reocrd this season.
UTSA's doubles pairing of Stanislava Bobrovnikova and Zlatarova has competed with a 4-0 overall record. Sophie Omoworare and Starr own a 5-7 mark. Both teams combine to earn nine doubles points. The Roadrunners have totaled a 27-68 (.284) mark in singles and a 15-36 (.294) record in doubles as a team.
