BRYAN, Texas — Hunter Bott tied for 37th place to lead the UTSA men's golf team to 11th at The Aggie Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday at Traditions Golf Club (par 72/7,227 yards).
Bott fired a final-round 78 to close out a 234 that also included a 76 in the opening round to help the Roadrunners to 11th with a 938 (309-311-318), 14 shots ahead of Northern Illinois and only nine behind 10th-place Kent State. The junior from Montgomery played the par fives at even par and registered a team-high 32 pars for the weekend.
Jack Wehman tied for 52nd with a 237 (78-77-82) on the strength of 30 pars and four birdies, while Michael Rome matches those two totals in tying for 60th with a 239 (77-73-89).
David Harrison tied for 64th after carding a 240 (78-81-81) behind a team-best six birdies and Christian Fanfelle led the lineup in the final round with a 77 that closed out a 246 (84-85-77).
Reed Foster tied for 71st (81-82-82—245) while playing as an individual.
No. 23 Texas A&M claimed the team title with an 887 behind individual medalist Walker Lee (216) ahead of No. 10 Arkansas (895), seventh-ranked Texas Tech (898), Houston (911) and No. 32 New Mexico (911) in the top five.
The Roadrunners will be back in action on April 25-28 when they travel to Texarkana, Ark., for the Conference USA Championship.
