Abilene, Texas – Freshman Tiago Torres (Lisbon, Portugal) claims his sixth consecutive singles win on Saturday afternoon, as UTSA bested ACU 4-3.
Torres competed on court 4 against Tyler Stewart (Midland, Texas) with the end score being 6-2, 6-2. Torres improves to 8-2 on the season. Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) also improves to 8-2 in singles, winning against Savan Chhabra (Irving, Texas) 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 on court 3.
The win streak continues in doubles as Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) record their fourth straight victory against Chhabra and Daniel Morozov (Joliet, Ill.), scoring 6-4 on court 1. Likewise, Rodriguez and Torres get their third consecutive doubles win defeating Mihaly Deli (Budapest, Hungary) and Jose Maria Rastrojo (Seville, Spain) 6-4 on court 2. Both teams improve to 4-1.
No.60 UTSA will be back in action tomorrow as they face the No.36 Texas Tech at the McLead Tennis center at 10 a.m.
