SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match Friday afternoon to conference foe Louisiana Tech at the UTSA Tennis Center.
In doubles play, Jasmin Starr and Keegan McCain fell to their opponents 6-2 at No. 2. At No. 3, Sophie Omoworare and Stanislava Bobrovnikova were defeated 6-1 to give the Lady Techsters the lead (1-0).
Starr clinched the first win for the Roadrunners in singles play, defeating her opponent 6-4 in both sets at No. 2. Aleksandra Zlatarova claimed the other point for UTSA at No. 1. Zlatarova lost the first set to her opponent 6-4 before winning the second (6-0) and pushing for a 6-1 tie breaker third set win.
Bobrovnikova lost her doubles match 6-0, 2-6 at No. 3. At No. 4, Eva Beyebach fell to her opponent 7-5 in a tie-breaking first set and 6-1 in the second. Omoworare was defeated 6-1, 6-2.
The Roadrunners will be returning to the court for a pair of home matches against Gonzaga on March 10 and Liberty on March 13.
