SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team is set to compete in the Boerner Invitational March 4-5, hosted by UT Arlington, to close out the tournament slate.
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners enter the weekend 4-10 overall after a 9-1 win over HBU on Tuesday.
Erykah Guerrero leads the team with a .323 batting average, including 10 hits, two doubles and a home run. Marena Estell leads the team in the circle with a 3.76 ERA, posting a 1-4 record and 12 strikeouts.
Scouting Fordham
Fordham comes into the tournament with a 3-8 record after a 5-3 loss to Seton Hall on Feb. 23. The Rams have wins over Weber State, Northern Colorado and Coastal Carolina.
Amanda Carey leads the team with a .286 batting average. She has posted four hits. Makenzie McGrath leads the pitchers with a 4.00 ERA and a 2-2 record. She has recorded 11 strikeouts in 21.0 innings.
Scouting Northwestern State
Northwestern State enters the weekend with a 10-6 record after an 8-1 win over Grambling on Tuesday.
Bailie Ragsdale leads the Lady Demons with a .429 batting average, including 18 hits and a double. Maggie Darr leads the team in the circle with a 0.91 ERA and a 5-0 record. She has recorded two shutouts and 57 strikeouts so far this season.
